Hello,

I am currently having my first outbreak. It started on Friday with only one sore, and now I have over 10 on my genital area. I have a Dr appointment on Wednesday. Is there any recommendations for pain relief? I have a high tolerence for most pain (I have ulcers and migraines) but this is unbearable. I am a woman, and I scream (literally) everytime I pee. No matter if I stand or sit or lay on my belly everything hurts. The first 2 days I found a warm bath to relieve pain, but now nothing works. I hold my urine so long until it forces it's way out, because it is so painful to urinate (I read this can occur with women who have herpes.) Is there anything that numbs the pain? Any creams I can get from a local pharmacy? I'm not exaggeratting about the pain...I've never hurt this way, and the pain in never ending. I have no form of relief. If anyone has any ideas please let me know. I don't know how I will last until Wed. thanks in advance.

Poor thing I am at work so I will make this quick and I will be back in the morning time if you have other questions and I am sure that others will reply to night, look search this herpes board for garlic oil and you will find the instructions on how to make it, it really is simple just a real live garlic and extra virgin garlic oil. I have heard that someone used alovera for immedtate relif be-ware I think that she said that it burned first. Also preoxide helps also sometimes it really burns at first too. For my primary before I knew what it was I used some monistat 7 they equate kind again be ware it itched all night like the dickens but the next day was really better, I don't know if that wah the right thing to do using the monastat you know for something else. But yeah look at the garlic board it will help, although make sure that you take a good bath before going to the doctor cause It may be kind of difficult to explain why you smell like an itillian pie.

Holla it is now 5 o'clock due to my slow typing, pick something from this board it will probally work and try to rest, it won't be this bac next time and I'll check on you tomorrow morning

ciao

If you had trouble finding the garlic oil, all you do is cut one or two cloves of garlic (a section of the head you buy in the store, peeled) into quarters, put it in a very small container with a tight-fitting lid, and cover with ex-virgin olive oil. Let sit about two hours (no need to refrigerate; I keep mine in my bathroom and take it with me in a doubled ziploc bags with some q-tips) and then you can apply whenever you want with a q-tip--gently--and use a mirror if you have to. It is very soothing. I use my batch (sometimes have to make another) the whole time my ob is going on, then discard the rest.

Peroxide and anything that stings at first is probably not the best idea for you in this condition. The primary outbreak is the worst, though, so take heart. We all sympathize with you.

You might try applying the garlic oil liberally right before you pee, and then again after. Please let us know how you are.

So sorry you are going through this, we've all been there. I used Zovirax ointment that my Dr gave me, why don't you call & ask for a perscription?? maybe ice will help when you have to pee, put the ice cube the second you are done. I don't know if baths are a good idea during an outbreak, especially a primary? Don't know for sure. This will be the worst of it, it will heal up & go away, and if it does return at another time, your body will be better prepared to fight it off now that it's in your system. Good luck, & you will feel better soon.
