Have a brain cyst that the doctor wants to remove transnasal endoscopic. Since I have a deviated septum will have to have this surgery also. I have no insurance and I wonder if anyone has been turned down for surgery by the doctor because of it. Really worried about this. Thanks

there is medicad and alot of hospitals may do the surgery, and make payment plans. or if they arent causing you a problem yet( I dont know about brain cysts) maybe they can get you on medication until you decide what to do. I know you are scared and just feeling overtwhelmed try to talk to someone as well, to get your feelings out about this HUGS syndy :p

Saar,
Now would be a good time to see if you are eligible for assistance from the state and Gov't. 4 years ago I had a colloid cyst of the third ventricle removed. The surgery, recovery, etc. bills were enourmous. Luckily, insurance covered almost all of it, and the rest we made monthly payments until paid off.
I am no expert, but I do realize surgery of almost any kind can be financially devastating without insurance. Please talk to a representative from social services about your immediate need. Best wishes to you, Dodi
