My boyfriend has been having problems since he was 19 years old, he's 32 now. He said the best way he can describe his problems is if I read The Book of Jobe, he said what was happening to Jobe is happening to him. He said he can feel three things in him but he doesn't know what they are, he said they inflict pain, manipulate dreams and thoughts, and cause visions. I know he is telling the truth because his stories never change but Im not sure if he is suffering from schizophrenia or what. He does say that he hears voices and they tell him things. Does anyone know what this could possibly be??? He has seen about 10 psychs and all of them had no answer. One of them actually told him to see a priest in South Carolina. I just dont know what to do anymore. If anyone wants to attempt to give some advise on this I would appreciate it!

Okay, first, it is very, very rare for a person to be possessed. The person must be very weak in order for a spirit to take possession of a person. However, that's not to say that it can't happen.
Secondly, I would say your boyfriend probably does have some kind of personality disorder. I'm surprised a psychologist didn't pick up on that. They do have meds to treat some of his symptoms. I would recommend he use a mental health facility, and not just a private practice shrink.
Now. . having said all that. . . I am a sensitive (intuitive, psychic, etc). You should try this. . . . find a store (either a wicca store, native american tribal store, or a health food store) that sells SAGE! White Sage is best, but regular sage will work too. Have him smudge himself with sage. This is a native american tradition and commonly practiced by all groups.
Have your boyfriend light the sage but let the flame burn out. He should be left with a smoldering smoke. He needs to walk through EVERY room in his house, even in the corners. And then he needs to smudge his own body, from head to toe. The whole time, think POSITIVE and EMPOWERING thoughts. Sage is excellent for clearing out negativity. Think of it like burning the "good luck" or "money" incense you can buy at walmart. Except that white sage has been known to clear out negativity for thousnads of years.

Hi there
I can't believe they actualy sent him to see a priest .There is one thing that he must
understand and that is that possesions are not real ,it's impossible to be possesed
by anything .He should go see a good psychiatrist ,someone who believes in science
and not in religious ********,I wish him all the best ,he is not possesed trust me I know
that for sure .Please tell your boyfriend to get help ,going to a priest wouldn't solve
anything .

oh dear. this sounds very familiar. i think i might know your boyfriend. does his first name start with the letter "e"? if it is who i think it is, you need to get out. no amount of sage or priests or pixie dust is going to help this guy. he's got schizophrenia, and he knows it.

that is TOTALLY amazing, these two should meet, because they both compare themselves to Job, are both the same age, and both started having problems at the same time. so weird.
the guy i'm thinking of is schizophrenic with i believe dissociative identity disorder. if you "google" that, you should get some good links.
i have a close friend with did (also known as mpd, or multiple personality disorder). it can feel very real, that there are other people living inside of you. usually the person has been through some sort of severe trauma repeatedly, at a young age.
it's very hard to get involved with someone with these types of illnesses. i commend you for trying to get informed.
i cannot possibly say over the internet and not knowing your boyfriend, but i can make an educated guess that he has schizophrenia and/or dissociative identity disorder.

He's a very special person, I have encountered some strange things since being with him. I cant explain the things I have witnessed and I think this is why I was hoping maybe someone might be going through the same thing or know someone going through the same thing. He means so much to me and I would never leave him for something like this. No one in his family has suffered from this, he has had problems in the past that I know of but nothing that would cause him to have any mental problems, but that is only my opinion and I am not a pshychiatrist. The only thing I can do is try to understand. Its very difficult when there are people who say he cant be possessed but the things that I have seen I just dont know how he can do on his own. It scared me at first but I do see that he is not violent in any way and he has never said anything hurtful or cruel to me in the while that I've known him. His personality never changes, his moods rarely change accept if I say something that he doesn't agree with, which is normal human behavior. He's normal, he's kind, and he never talks to anyone that isnt there :), I've studied quite a bit on these types of diseases and also have spoken with many people about it but no one can give me answers, they all say that they've heard of this but do not feel he has any mental problems. I think its easier for people to label something as "mental" or a "disease" when they do not understand, everyone needs proof to believe. I know I wanted a label for it, I wanted to say he was schizophrenic or he had some mental problems. Its just easier to accept. Easier to believe that someone is suffering this way, its an answer to something that cant be explained.
I know I love him. I know that I've seen some crazy things happen. I know I do not hear voices and I do not see visions. Never in my life have I encountered something like this. From what I see and what I hear and what I know he is healthy. I just wish I could have an answer that made sense and would not make people believe he or I are crazy :)

he is not crazy and you aren't crazy either ,you're a very strong person to
stick by him in these difficult times ,i know how he feels , I wish I knew how
he acts or what makes you think that he is possesed ? if he hears voices
than he should go see a good psychiatrist ,maybe he has an ocd , I was diagnosed with ocd 10years ago and i can tell you that if he thinks he is possesed than his body and his mind will act like it's possesed ,mind is very
powerfull it can make you believe that you are possesed but if you stop
believing it than it goes away ,i think it's very important for him not to believe in god , the devil , heaven and hell and all the other man made things
that don't exist . I think that maybe he thinks he is possesed because he actually believes that it's possible to be possesed by something , i think maybe he is afraid of being possesed or afraid of the devil or some other creature , he has to realize that there is no devil,no god,nothing like that and
that it's impossible to be possesed .You wrote that the things you have seen

We do both believe in God and that will not change. But we're just gonna take it one day at a time. We will continue to search for answers with the doctors. I dont think there is much that can be done on a message board without actually speaking with him, just really wanted to see if anyone else was going through the same thing. I do appreciate everyone's input on this!

well im pretty sure hes healthy and the real happenings is of ghosts-spirits, he is one who can cummincate like myself but the problem is he dosent know he as the gift, if he can learn about it then he'll be able to control things better, and it sounds to me like some ghosts-spirits r useing his body to keep themselfs alive, dosent sound normal i know, but im pretty sure this is whats happening, the best thing he can do is study paranormal such as ghosts-spirits that kinda thing, then he'll be much better at sorting himself out, he'll be able to get rid of these ghosts prossesing him. hope this helps, babe908.
