my daughter who was born a month to soon has always been small for her age but not slow by way of physical development.
she rolled over at 4 months
she sat alone at the end of 5 months
she crawled at the start of 7 months
and now she is about a week away from being 8 months and she is already pulling up and starting to cruise around furniture.....
isnt that a little soon for that? love to hear from anyone regaurding this....

Hello, Nope, she's not to young to be doing that in my opinion. Infants/children develop at their own speed, so some are faster than others and some are slower. My son was doing the same thing around that age too, but then he was using 3 sylable (sic.) words too at that age. He also said his first word when he was 3 months old, and I haven't been able to shut him up since. (Old joke.)

No, not too soon, my son was crawling by 7 months, standing around the same time etc...he was walking at 10 months...just keep an eye on her, make sure there is nothing within reach that can hurt her (it's amazing how far a baby can reach when they want something), sounds like she's right on track.

my oldest never crawled went straight to pulling and cruising at 7 months walking confident by 9.5 months (he is very coordinated now) he always did those things really early. He kept us running all the time since he was so little we had to watch him even more. Funny thing is the last 3 kids didn't start walking till 14 mos.

My daughter was 6 weeks early and walked at 10 months so,I wouldn't worry.Start worrying when she isn't walking at 2 lol.

My oppinion only.My experience only that of a mother.
I think that with children learning, growing etc.there is never a too soon and seldom a too late.Children do things on their own time.they don't know what age other kids do things at,they just know that they want to try it.
I sometimes wonder if children are smarter than we are.Maybe we are born knowing everything and just get dumber as we go along. LOL ;)

as newborns, babies know how to 'walk' (study done, i saw a video at school), you are able to hold the babies under their arms, and have there feet touching the floor, or something, and sloly move them forward, they'll know some how, how the motioon of the feet has to go to walk, so, when done, you'll notice your baby already knowing how to 'walk', but with assistance. lol
sorry, if what i wrote sounds confusing  , i was trying to remember about what the movie i watched, i saw it last year. lol

All chilrdren do things differently my first child a girl walked 1 week after her first birthday, my second child a boy walked at 9months,and my third child a girl walked at about 11 months. I really learned with my kids that they do things at different rate my first child was 12 days old when she rolled over but she didnt sit alone until she was almost 10 months old she never really did crawl. my son was almost 2 before he started talking but he did everything else a little early and my third child seems to hit all her milestones around where she is suppose

Hey Brook Lynn,
I'd like to think that babies are very ambitious little people. My brother held my daughter up under her arms when she was between three and four WEEKS old, and let her feet touch the bed in my parents' room. She immediately began moving her feet as if she was walking! Today, she is two months old, and she can support her own weight on her legs, and she can walk with help. Of course she can't keep her balance right now, and she can't stand for TOO long, but she is doing awesome. And she gets a kick out of standing up and walking...I think it's because she is so proud of herself. Also, she doesn't like laying flat when she is awake. She likes to sit straight up. If she is semi reclined, she tries to sit up, and depending on the angle, she can do it. But still, she doesn't have the balance thing down yet, so she tips over often. If she tips all the way forward, which is rather funny to watch, she will do this little rolling manuever and kick her legs from under her, and lay on her belly looking for and talking to me. It's a treasure.
I know that they have books and charts to tell you when your baby is supposed to do what, but many times, I don't think there is any special order to follow because each baby sets her/his own pace.
So, be proud of your little girl. And remember, you always have this to brag about to your friends. :D

My son didn't even bother trying to pull up until he was about a year old (was 14 months by the time he even bothered trying to walk). He never crawled until he was a year old, he would roll very well and even sit well lol.

No, it isn't too soon. Babies experience this stuff at all different ages. I have 2 kids that were total opposite of one another.
My daughter rolled over at 3 months old.........sat alone at 6 months......crawled at 9 months........walked at 11 months.
My son on the other hand........rolled over at 2 months.........started sitting up at about 3-1/2 months..........crawled at 4 months.............and RAN at 8 months!!!!
I haven't sat down since!!!

My son was rolling over at 2 months, sitting and crawling by 5 months, pulling up by 7 months and took his first steps at 8 months. By 10 months old he was walking like he'd been doing it forever, and now at 13 months, he runs and keeps up with 18-24 month olds. Some babies just have alot of physical coordination and willpower at an early age!

I think 7 months is around the right age to start pulling themselves up. My 10 month old is already walking, and has been pulling himself up since 7 months. I've always heard that 2 months after they pull themselves up for the first time, they will be walking. That's how it happened for my son.

None I know what that is like. My daughter will be 4 months old on the 26th of September. The day after she was born and every day after that she held up her head on her own. She was able to roll over onto her side when she wanted. For the past 2 weeks she has been rolling over from her back to her stomach and this week she has started to hold her own bottle. She can also sit up against a pillow for over a half hour without falling over. These kids now days are very strong and the faster they learn something the more they end up doing before their suppose too.
