my nearly 8 month old daughter has been eating solids now for about a month and a half, and i have been giving about 20 oz of formula daily also but lately she wont take her bottle except for at night when she goes to bed and then when she first wakes up...i guess i should be thrilled that she is going to be easy to ween off the bottle but i am a little worried that those solids do not have enough nutrition for her, and espesially for my daughter considering at 5 months old she was labled failer to thrive, now however she weighs 18 lbs, which i guess is good, but i have not been able to see the doc for a while and i was just looking for some reasurance or any advice or stories that anyone has to share....thanks

Does she drink her forumula out of a sippy cup? I don't know what the recomended amount of formula is for a child her age (my first was bottle fed, but that was 10 years ago almost, i don't remember...my other 2 were breast fed). You can get the cereals with forumla in them (hienz makes them i believe i don't know if any other baby food company does we don't have gerber food here). It may be a passing thing also, i've heard of babies refusing the bottle or breast then in a few weeks they want it again. Also, you can add the cereal with formula in it in her other foods as well...just mix a tablespoon in with her solid foods. Also, is she drinking 8oz at a feeding? if she is than she's drinking 16oz a day and thats only 4 below what she was normaly drinking not a big difference...the only thing i would suggest is taking her to see the doctor, where you had failure to thrive problems with her before you want to make sure that she doesn't need the extra nutrition just to catch up. Also, i would assume they make a multivitamin for babies...you could also try that.
