Hi,
I had been asking around on here about hair electrolysis because I was thinking about getting it done. No one had any information for me, so I just went ahead and got it done. Well, I only had it done for 15 minutes because the appointment was to see how I liked it.
She recommended that I get this cream you can put on your legs that contains novacaine. This way my legs will be numb when she does it, then she can add more heat, and the process will go faster.
In the 15 minutes I was there today, she got a small portion, maybe a 1/3 of my calf done. Some of the follices REALLY hurt and some I couldn't even feel. This will be much better next time when I have the cream.
Immediately afterwards, there were BIG bumps where the hair had been permanently removed, but after about a half hour they had gone down. I put a type of Neosporin on the area, and now it looks fine. I love it!!! I can't believe I'm never gonna hafta shave my legs again after this is over!!
I just wanted to share my experience, and I'm still looking for somebody else that has had this done.

Yes- I have had extensive laser hair removal and electrolysis and I hate to burst your bubble but neither works permanently, even though they claim to. They do however, slow hair growth. I will probABLY continue to get it done just to keep my gorillaness under control, but it is a REAL big let down that it is not permanent. I have spent about $3,000 over the years for these kinds of treatment! I wish they could really discover an effective permanent method.

I agree - it's not going to be forever so start saving up your money for touch ups.
Also, electrolysis is a very long slow, process, so be prepared for that. You said she got about 1/3 of one calf done. What she actually got was about 1/3 of the VISIBLE hair on that calf. Hair is always growing, falling out, and coming back in. So there are going to be many many hairs that are currently at the "coming back in" stage that will start showing up just when you think she's completed an area.

I had electrolysis on my bikini line about 15 years ago. I went every week to a licensed electrologist, for an hour at a time, for a YEAR. It grew back and I'm still shaving.
