I have heard a lot on the importance of getting enough water through-out the day . . . 8 servings is agreed upon by most. I am attempting to do this, but have found that I get caught up in work and forget about getting my servings. Anyone have any suggestions or tips for drinking more water that have worked for them?

I'm not sure how to get you to remember to drink enough servings, but my problem with drinking enough water was just that I got sick of the taste of it so much throughout the day. I would suggest buying flavored water, like Fruit2O, but make sure these drinks, if sweetened, are sweetened with Sucralose rather than Aspartame. You could add lemon to your water, or even buy mix for Crystal Light, which has 5 calories per serving and will give you a great serving of water to keep you hydrated. Hope this helps!

I responded in the other thread, but I'll post it here too. Measure out your water at the beginning of your day so you can always see how much you need to get through. Then it is your goal to finish it all. Also, keep small water bottles with you everywhere and sip it slowly all day. You don't need to chug big servings to get the benefit and its much easier to get through it slowly, a sip at a time.

Drink water at room temp - it goes down much easier and tastes better (if filtered). Tap water often tastes awful at room temp, so I don't recommend that

I do recommend water straight-up - without chemicals, sugar, or sugar substitutes added. If you hate the taste, you may have bad water - I invested in a reverse osmosis filtration system (the most thorough method of filtration) and now my water tastes GREAT! If you can't do that, get a Britta or buy filtered water at the store. I prefer filtered water to spring water - spring water always tastes bitter to me.

I just make sure i always have a bottle of water with me wherever i go...that way i can just drink some no and again, and by the end of the day, i have usually had about 5 or 6 bottles fo water. So that's 2.5-3L of water, more if i workout or something, and that's MORE than enough water. But i have to say that having that much water makes a HUGE difference in feeling healthy, being regular, having more energy, it just makes me want to be more healthy because it feels so good.

I really don't mind the taste of the cheap bottled water i buy (gereric Ontario spring water) even though i usually drink it at room temp because i can drink more that way. Just add a lemon slice to a bottle of water in the morning and keep filling it up throughout the day from a britta or something, and, if possible, replace the slice once in a while, it will make your water taste fresh, clean, and good and also make your breath smell nice.

Put a jug of water at ur workplace. To remind you that u still have lots of water to drink. Don't leave work without drinking all the water. This is how i do it. And it works for me :)
