My Wbc Count Is 11.5 A Lil High!! I Have No Insurance And Im So Scared Im Always So Tired And Cant Even Work Anymore! I Dont Know What To Do Cancer Runs Inmy Family So Much 4 Grand Parents Died From It And My Aunt Just Dxed A Month Ago! Also 2 Uncles That I Know About! Since I Have No Insurance Im Going Crazy I Cant Even Get A Ct Scan Done And Especially Not A Biopsy? I Dont Know What To Do Because I Looked It Up And It Very Curable Compared To Most Cancers! I Just Wanna Live But Im So Weak Right Now I Get A Fever Of About 100.4 At The Highest Sometimes! Any1 Have Any Suggestion ? Its Been 7 Months Since This Started And The Weird Thing Is It Started All In One Day! Or Atleast Thats When I Noticed It I Went To The Doctors A Clinc He Said Nothing To Worry About Yea Right! He Gave Me A Prescription

The lymphocyte count is a part of the CBC. The Lymphocyte count being elevated indicates infection it does not necessarily indicate cancer. Many people who have cancer have normal blood counts until they begin chemo which then reduces the blood counts.
Don't panic, save your money until you have enough to purchase the tests. By then you may have better answers than you will get right now. If you are still doing well enough to stay out of an Emergency room, then you will be ok for a while longer.

Most emergency rooms post a sign about affording treatment and state you will not be turned away if you do not have insurance, at least the ones I've been in. Are you sure if you went to the ER that you would be turned away? I find that impossible. Call your local hospitals, explain the situation.

But calm down first; I'm sure you are stressed but worrying is making it worse. Get proactive, call the hospitals in your area, just inquire as you would if you were calling for a friend.

In this day and age, most families have cancer but that doesn't mean you have it. You're only 24 - do you have family that can help? Mother, father, brothers, sisters, aunts, anyone?

they will take me in the er but they wont do a biopsy its not a emergency situation u know! i did find out tho if i can get a biopsy done the hospital would have to treat me cause then it is a emergency ! any more comments

The point in my mind is, if you go to the ER and explain the situation, yur symptoms, etc., and tell them you cannot afford a doctor, I can't see them turning you away and just giving you a prescription if they suspect something more. If it were me, and I was in your situation, I would become a permanent fixture in the ER until I got what I felt I needed!

Twenty years ago, I took my brother to the ER - he was homeless and on alcohol. He didn't work, no insurance. The ER checked him into a rehab facility. So, although it's different, the ER should go to the next step if they feel it's warranted. So that tells me, they don't feel it's warranted.

Maybe I have it wrong but my common sense is no hospital or doctor will turn a person away or treat them improperly if they suspect advanced disease or cancer.

You mentioned you work - do you have insurance in the workplace or any kind of assistance in this area?

Where I live its the same if you do not have insurance the

ER will treat you only if its an emergancy. My husband

had to wait on are insurance before the surgeon would see

him and before they would do the cat scan. I do have a

suggestion not sure if every state offers but Ohio does.

My husbands employment did not offer insurance and

we have four children and could not afford to pay for

insurance on are own. We applied with the state and its

based on the family income and how many people in the

household. We got accepted and get a medicad card every

month. It will cover the cost of all the test and doctors

and even prescriptions. You might want to check into it if

you are not working you should be eligable. good luck,
