Hi, my name is Megan, I am currently 15yrs old, and I live in MD. I am a frequent computer user, and I think I may have CTS.
I have several of the warning signs, including numbness, tingling, pain, and my hand falling asleep. I've been wearing a wrist brace lately, but it doesn't really seem to do anything. Can someone tell me what I need to do? Like, do I need to go to the doctors? Thanks.

How are u Megan, Ive got the same problem, but my elbow & ring & pinky finger also hurt & feel numb. Im 21 by the way, but i heard anyone at any age can get it, it really sux. I havent gone to the doctors yet, but i should, i will soon. I recommend u rest your hands first, u need to stop doing damage to them. Then see how u feel in 1 to 2 weeks. If still not much change, u should go to the doctors & tell them what u think u have. You will probably need to have EMG, which is an electronic nerve conduction test, which will be able to determine what u have. Aparently, the test feels wierd & uncomfortable, but nothing to worry about. Just relax, youll be fine. Then, the docs can most likely tell what u have. But. whatever u do, if they recommend surgery, dont jump to that conclusion, there are alot of other methods to heal, try calling chiropracters & physical therapists & massage therapists, & ask them about your problem. There are also certain vitamins that can help healing, like vitamin B6 for example. Just dont get surgery, im certain u can heal in more natural ways. Im 21 & your 15 right? Im young & your even younger, which is even better reason that he can heal without having any surgery! So good luck to u & just keep positive, dont stress, i know its annoying. If u got any other questions, just reply back, & i'll help out any way i can! :)

Hi, Megan. I have a 15 year-old daughter named Megan. I am certainly no doctor, but I can speak from my own experiences. If you are having pain/numbness while typing, it certianly sounds as if you could have some nerve irritation in your wrist (like with carpal tunnel). My advice is to see your doctor just to be sure. Could simply be the positioning of your hands and arms while typing. Again, I have no medical background, but do have carpal tunnel in one wrist. Hopefully, you don't. Good luck - Bill
