I find myself in an awkward position...
after giving so much of myself to a 78 year old man, who
appeared to have little or no support, I felt we had gotten
too close, and decided to begin a strategy for withdrawl.
I was honest with him and shared that I needed to work,
but that I could still work with him but not as much, etc.
I contacted the family, and social services to try and create
more awareness of his situation.
He became angry and said he would do whatever he could
to hurt me. Although he is not able to hurt me physically,
he has cause trouble with my workplace, going into the
President and CEO, and 2 days ago, they said I was being
asked not to renew, due to the problems with him.
I am not sure what else he might do, but I think it will be
hard to stick up formyself because he can play the sympathy
card, and win, because he is 78.
So I am posting this to let others know that this can happen.
Boundaries.
