Several months ago my wife had a small stroke which left her with no neurological deficits, however she is now taking a bloodthinner. Lately, during her menstrual cycles she bleeds very heavily, much more than ever before. She is 47 and we wonder about this. Can anyone share some similar experiences and whatever action was taken?

Hi. I am 39 and recently had a minor stroke (was left with right side weakness). I too am on bloodthinners and am bleeding like a stuck pig once a month! There must be a correlation between the two as I have traditionally had very light periods. Out of curiosity, do your wife's gums bleed now? Mine seem to bleed spontaneously and I am curious as to whethter this is a side effect of the thinners.
