View Full Version : Catchup tanning with the sun...

I know that people are going to tell me I'm crazy for using the sun to tan, but I just don't like fake tans. They don't last long enough and often the "tanning" goes a different way from a real tan, so the darkness can be the sam but the fake's color is a bit off...

Anyway, I have a lot of catchup tanning to do: Bottom of arms(like, the part with the juggler vein and such, I don't know what to call it but we typically don't have that part facing the sun), part of arms which short sleeves cover up, upper parts of my legs, midriff, and parts right below the neck and upper back.

So far, I've been putting 30SPF lotion on the tanned parts and have been lying down in the back yard for 20 minutes on both sides to tan the rest. (no protection) Is this too short/long? Should I put a low SPF on the catchup parts and tan a little longer?

(and I'm not going to try a tanning salon, I'm just too broke still, lol)

[edit]p.s. Oh right, my natural skin darkness level is about a 2 or 2.3 on a scale of 1-6, with 1 being whitest white and 6 being blackest black. It's kinda in the middle of irish and mexican, with a slight leaning toward irish.
