I have read the article about this thoroughly and tried to find out the most information on bipolar disorders because my bf is bipolar. I'm taking all of this very well, I mean I care so much for him to educate myself and live with the fact that he's bipolar. There is some info that I want to know about, like can someone grow out of it or is it a lifetime thing, but I can not find. I want to know everything about bipolar disorder there is to know. So I was wondering if anyone can help me on this. Thanks in advance.

Hi.
Bipolar Disorder is a chemical imbalance in the brain. There is no cure and you can't grow out of it. There are medications out there to help stabilize the brain chemistry but there is some trial and error involved in finding the right one and how much of it to prescribe.
Your support in your boyfriend finding and staying on his medication would be very valuable.
There is alot of information about Bipolar Disorder on the internet if you type Bipolar Disorder into your search engine. Probably more than anyone could ever manage to type in here for you...
Also, there is a whole board here at Healthboards just for friends, families and people with Bipolar Disorder. You can ask anything there that you are wondering about and someone will answer.
Here is a link to the board and then you can Bookmark it:

Good luck! I have Type I Bipolar Disorder and wish some of my earlier boyfriends had been half as interested in learning about my disease as you are in finding out about your boyfriend's.

Thank you. I'm sure you will find a boyfriend who cares enough to be interested in your health. ;)
