Hi everyone I'm new to this forum. I'm trying to get information relating to this. Can anyone help?
So far I've had a discectomy (three years ago following a car crash) I seem to live on dehidrocodine, muscle relaxants and sleeping tablets. Always in pain  just diffrent levels.
I try to exersice a couple of times a week. Dont want to sound like a moan but heck I'm sore

It sounds like it is time to have another MRI and see if there are any big changes going on. You didn't say how old you are....discs degenerate as we get older, usually without causing symptoms....a natural part of the again process. A degenerated disc can become a pain generator so it is time to be seen by a spine specialist.
Good luck, and welcome to the forum.
Carol
Thanks Carol
I'm 42 If you look in the posting DDD slow onset (I think) there are more details there.
I'll put them here as well.
I was involved in a rear end shunt in my car 4 years ago. I've always had a bit of a dicky back but nothing like this. To begin with I was told it was whiplash to my neck and back.
I got physio, and acipuncture. Didn't get much out of that. I was sent for an x ray. My pelvise was a bit twisted.
I then fell pregnant with my daughter as I had been really sick with the painkillers. It was suggested at that time I had a prolapsed disc but nothing could be done while I was pregnant.
I collapsed on the floor getting off the loo when she was 2 weeks old. I was taken to a nuero surgeon who decided to opperate. I had a discectomy. I sneezed while putting her in her pram and felt a pop. Back to the begining.! The surgeons wont re opperate unless I become incontanent.
I have had a nerve conduction test which showed damaged nerves arround the S5 L1 (where the disc was removed)_ and the disc directly above.
I was at the hospital yesterday and my new MRI shows a great deal of degeneration and sugnificant changes in a year. (whatever that means LOL)
I also have arthritise in my neck and lower back.
I have constant pins and needles in my hands and feet. Every now and again my left leg gives way. My lower back is painfull when stiitng too long ar standing too long. (more than 20 mins) I have trouble walking and getting upstairs. I cant lift my legs over the bath ect ect.
Dont want to sound like a moan.
