Alright here it is again.....talking about the PVC's or Palps.....I have been to the cardio, stress echo, echocardiagram with color flow, and the holter monitor.....all fine. I have accepted I can't do a damn thing about them but let them happen, and not let them control my life. However, one thing I do question that I am not reading alot about.....Here goes. I recently got divorced and I was playing softball....27 year old female. Well My Ex-husband was at the game watching his new girlfriend, which happened to be playing against my team. For some reason I started feeling anxious, nervous like. I have had panic attacks before, but swore I would not let them interfer with my life and I would get past it. So here I am, all nervous, and my pulse rate quickens and I can't get it down, I felt shakey and nervous and was having about one to two palps per minute on and off for about 30 minutes. This has never happened. Now I have accepted that I was anxious because they were there, and it made me nervous, why I don't know. But does anyone else experience palps with anxiety and quickened pulse rate. I know I have expereinced them with exercise before, but I seem to get nervous and the palps start up.....Any input would be helpful! Thanks

Hi there palpatations and tachycardia are common symptoms of anxiety, if you have done some work with your anxiety in the past you may have heard of the flight fight responce which sends the heart racing its a normal prehistoric responce to fear. Maybe seeing your ex husband subconscously set off an attack without you being aware. However if this is different for you then you should see your specialist. Do you know relaxation tecniques?
They are very helpful and sometimes breathing into your own hands can slow your breathing and heart rate down and returning everything back to normal. All you need to do is to cup your hands over your face as if you are warming them and breathe slowly and deeply trying to hold each breath for at least 3 seconds or counting in your head up to ten. It does work.
Take care hope this helps..

I wish I could offer some good advice, but.....I've basically learned to live with them also. They seem to happen at the strangest times, and, again, my cardiologist is not too concerned about them. I can be sitting here, during the quiet of the day, and my chest flutters. Sometimes, I think maybe I've gone a little heavy on the caffeine, but everything else checks out OK..... Of course, if you're only noticing them when your ex is around, it definitely could be anxiety!!! Don't let it get to you......it's his lose!!!!!

Hi there! Check and post on the panic attack thread on this health board. You will find many, many people have palpitations like you along with their anxiety and panic attacks. It is quite common.
