BAXTER 06-20-2003, 07:39 AM Hi Kirra, http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/wave.gif In my case, chiropractic care made me worse http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/frown.gif but it has helped many others, so I won't knock it. You can also do some searches here on the older postings, and tons of opinions will come up until more people here get the chance to chime in. Please make sure that you have done all of the testing in advance prior to your chiro visits, such as an MRI, that way, they will have a better understanding of what they are treating, and hopefully it will be to your benefit. I wish you well with whatever treatment that you pursue http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/angel.gif Be Well, Baxter http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/heart.gif ------------------ Two level laminectomy fusion L5-S1 & L2-3 done on 12/6/02. I regret the day that I agreed to have this surgery. Fifteen inch scar from the very top of butt crack (sorry), to the bra line. BAK cages, rods & screws.(Titanium) My pelvic bone was used for grafting. Praying that the other two discs in between, won't have to be fused later, as I was told it was a possibility, due to the other two discs in between, not being in that great of shape. Doc didn't want to fuse four levels, unless it is really necessary. I would hate to repeat the surgery, as the recovery period, is so very painful. I also have a free fragment in my T11-12 area, that I'm still refusing surgery for, at this point in time. That surgery is way too dangerous for me to consider, until if affects my being able to walk. I will need surgery, but without him I don't think I would beable to walk at all. Anyways before I started seeing my Chiropractor, I interviewed him. Asked his creditationals, Told him how apprehensive I was about chiropractic care, along with other things. I was so relieved when this chiropractor took time out of his busy schedule sat down for an hour no charge and talked to me about what to expect etc... I now feel comfortable about asking him any questions I have regarding back symptoms freely, because he won't dismiss me. I hope whatever you do decide that you find someone, who will take the time to answer your questions, and not make you feel like you are being rushed out. twisten 06-20-2003, 10:47 PM I've never been to one. To be honest with you, they scare me!! But that's just my opinion. There are lots on here that have wonderful results with them. So good luck and if you decide to see one, let us know if it helped. Take care. |
