I recently visited the Cleveland clinic. During my ekg naturally they caught me in bigeminy. They said I had mostly monomorphic pvc's however there was a second morphology silmilar to the first. They seem to think these are coming from around my mitral valve. So I get to endure another ablation procedure. I had one ablation however the dr told me up front he didnt get the one causing my bigeminy. He told me at the time I had two more places throwing them off but they were so infrequent he couldnt map them to ablate them. Yipeee what a joy this last year has been. Cleveland said they would stay til they got it but it was a nasty procedure that I really dont want to go through again. I wasnt given any sedation the first time around and I cried through the whole damn thing. They dont want to put me on ameidrone. I have been on sotalol tykosin(no I dont have a fib) and tambocor which really didnt make much difference. I am about at the end of my rope. My ablation hasnt been scheduled yet and it could take several months to get in to get it done. Put me on the ameidrone......so it has side effects.....if I could have a happy six months of being pvc free...it beats living like this.

Hi Barbie: I don't have any answers for you, but I did read your thread. Sorry about your problems. Doesn't it seem like sometimes its just one thing after another? I used to get mad and think why doesn't the sickness fairy sprinkle this around a little more evenly? Guess it doesn't work that way. I had quad bypass last August and I have to go in soon for my repeat stress EKG. I hope everything is okay, I sure don't want to do that again anytime soon! Good luck to you and I hope you feel better.

Thanks KShortie I hope your ekg comes back good. I am just tired of getting test after test after test. Been through a heart cath-normal. Ep study _couldnt induce anything. Ablation-one spot. Ct scan of the heart-normal. Chest exrays_normal. Tee moderate mvp with mild reg. 2 echos given what seems like tons of blood. I am 35 years old and I feel twice that age...lol

Berbie,
Heck, til I looked up BIGEMINY, I'd always assumed it meant being married to two midgets at once!:D:D
I'm surprised that the catheter/ablation hurts so much.
Does the amidrine have a good history with you (I assume Ameidrone is the brand name- I can't find any references?
It's terrible you have to wait so long to get cured, ESPECIALLY since somebody screwed up the first time round! You'd think GUILT would come into play a bit!
Good luck with the drug.

Zip I didnt get my first ablation done in Cleveland. I had it done in Lexington, Ky. What made it so gross was I could feel the cathers being advanced through my body. It was gross feeling. I have never been on ameidrone. The drs refuse to let me try that drug because its can have some pretty bad side effects. Dreamer an ablation is done like a heart cath they find the spot causing arrythmia and burn it. I was put to sleep when they did burn the spot thank god.
