I am so sorry to hear that. I know what your going thru! I had my surgery canceled last min too! But mine was due to my n/s was not in my ins. network! They knew I changed ins. co but at the 11th hour realized I had another ins plan! called 2 days prior to surgery and had to fight to get out of network benefits. I was out on disability and jeopardized all!! anyway, got the overide and surgery went on. C 5-6-7 fusion, because my n/s did my previous surgery in 1999 they allowed it, (L5 disc removed, no fusion) This whole back ordeal is causing me so much anguish, I am fighting to save my dis benefits like I am a criminal ! The dis co is asking for more updated info from my drs like I am making this up!!! God will this ever end?

Towman,You have been in my thought so much and I am so very sorry that this has happened to you My God to have to build yourself up and to be let down so D---- hard.I will keep you in my thoughts and please keep us posted as we all care so very much.
I am going now as several months ago I had to put my beloved chow down I refused to let him suffer as I was I didn't think I would ever get another but the pain was so strong I went to the animal shelter and got a mutt well he provides me with the only entertainment I have had in 4 yrs.Well we have built in bookcases covered with glass and he just found his refection and is flipping out ,I am so glad I got him.
Just wanted to share something good with you for once besides all the pain!!!
Linda
P.S. have decided to go to ER at cl.clinic as everything is going out of control, I know that there I will get a good eveluation, not just a pain shot and 10 wasted hours to be sent home.wanted to let you know that I will be out of touch for a while.Wish me luck .I sure need it!!

------------------
Two level laminectomy fusion L5-S1 & L2-3 done on 12/6/02.
I regret the day that I agreed to have this surgery.
Fifteen inch scar from the very top of butt crack (sorry), to the bra line.
BAK cages, rods & screws.(Titanium)
My pelvic bone was used for grafting.
Praying that the other two discs in between, won't have to be fused later, as I was told it was a possibility, due to the other two discs in between, not being in that great of shape.
Doc didn't want to fuse four levels, unless it is really necessary.
I would hate to repeat the surgery, as the recovery period, is so very painful.
I also have a free fragment in my T11-12 area, that I'm still refusing surgery for, at this point in time.
That surgery is way too dangerous for me to consider, until if affects my being able to walk.

Sorry your surgery was delayed- hoping your bld sugar gets to a good level right away, that you can get your surgery done & over with very soon & get on the road to getting your pain under control asap! Stress & pain levels can effect bld sugar can't they? Are you on bld sugar meds or controlling it w/diet - or was this a new thing for you? If pre-sugery stress was one of the culprits, maybe next time you cld take a v-mild sedative a few days prior - or try meditation or any kind of de-stresser that works in calming your mind/nerves during stress. Mainly pamper yourself with whatever brings you peace of mind & laughter.(?) I know you were geared up for getting this done/over with - tired of the pain- but it's "just" a matter of time- right? We're anxiously waiting to here what you find out from your Doc- Best of luck to you! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/t_up.gif

Good luck at the ER! Please let us hear how you're doing!

Cardinal, sorry for your problems w/insurance. Surely after they get the medical history from your Docs they can determine that your pain was very real! ...If they could just have a DAY in your body - right?! Sometimes it takes experiencing the pain personally before people can have empathy! Best of luck to you!

Hello everyone and thanks for your support. As for the blood sugar thing its new to me Ive never had trouble before, but it does run in my family so I have had it checked from time to time but never any troubles I think it was a multitude of things causing it depression not watching my diet very well and no exercise at all. The last 4 days I have watched my diet a little closer and got out and walked what I could stand to, and my sugar levels have been normal every day.....So for some reason the 19th was just not my day and thanks again everbody I really appreciate everthing ......Towman

Hi Towman http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/wave.gif

I am so sorry to hear that your surgery was cancelled. That must have been a great inconvience to you and your family. I know you might not want to hear this, but atleast the doctor was looking out for you, and your best interest. I know my discogram was almost cancelled, due to my blood work. They said that my platelets or something like that were way off.....whatever that means, so I had to redo my bloodwork, and everything was okay.

Anyway, I am glad that the doctor didn't put money first, and then your health second. I don't know what could have happened, but I wouldn't want to that chance.

Towman, things happen for reasons, please try to keep your chin up. Things will get better, and again, I am sorry that this happened to you.

Take Care,
http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/heart.gif Brenda
