I just had an FNA biopsy for a mass in my neck (left side) and was just wondering on average how long it will take for me to get results - the doctor dissapeared after the procedure and nurse told me a few days. I'm pretty anxious. Thanks.

DebbieDo you know where the test was sent in order to be read? If it is in the same town it could be as little as 3 days. If it has to be transported it could be as long as 14 business days.

Oh I hope it's the same town, I guess I can call - I'd like to know either way before the weekend if I'm dealing with a benign mass or not. I'll hold myself from bothering the doctor's office tomorrow and wait till Friday. Thanks.

I had my FNA Biopsy done in the hospital by a doctor in the radiology/pathology dept -if the results come back not good and I need to have an open biopsy to remove the whole node, then I would have to have a surgeon do it.
