Just wanted to give all of you the heads up on the Dreamfields pasta. It is soooo amazing and it tastes EXACTLY like regular pasta-because it is! They have a patent pending process which makes carbohydrate non-digestible and makes them act like fiber (don't worry no icky side-effects). This allows only 5 grams of carbohydrates to be digested. It is so amazing! This is something that diabetics can eat because it has been shown not to spike blood sugar levels and this is something that low-carb, low glycemic index dieters can eat. It has a glycemic index of only 12. This also seems to be a good choice for your basic low cal dieters. When you subtract out the fiber and digestible carbs that leaves 33 carbs that's non digestible and is measured to be 1.6 cals/gram instead of 4 cals/gram. So when you add it to the digestible carbs and fiber carbs calories it gives you 112.6 calories per serving! I have at it 3 times this week. So yummy! Go to their website and you can read more on it. I found mine at Wal-Mart but on their website it says you can get it at Krogers and I think SafeWay (I didn't know they were still around). Good luck!

Does this pasta offer high fiber? I am looking for foods higher in fiber to prevent diverticuli since having surgery. And less carbs & calories is certainly a plus since pasta happens to be one of my downfalls when watching my diet. Does it really taste good? And what form of pasta is it...spaghetti, ziti ?? Thanks for the info...I just returned from Walmart & wish I had seen your post beforehand....Goody :D :D

I tried one of those low carb pastas (they sell them in GNC and have a green package) and it was SO bad I threw the whole thing out. I'd rather just eat a little regualar pasta and suffer withdrawal. But, i shall try the one you recommmend.

Also, you should try tofu pasta from japanese or chinese markets. Its actually made out of tofu so has lots of protein but has very little carbs. It tastes just like ramen noodles and better still, has the same texture (unlike those low carb pastas

This isn't like the other low carb pastas that have soy etc. and taste so bad. The Dreamfields pasta tastes EXACTLY like regular pasta. It is just like regular pasta (same wheat) but they have a patent pending technology that makes most the carbs indigestible so they act like fiber. It also has a good amount of protein (I think 7 grams per serving). It comes in spaghetti, penne, linguine and elbow. They are also going to use this technology to make rice and potato products.
I just thought I would give everyone the heads up on this. It just seems like a good option for those dieting and watching their blood sugar. I know I was skeptical after tasting some other "low-carb" pastas but this pasta is incredible!
