hello,

i'm new to this particular forum but not new to meds or bipolar. i was diagnosed 13 years ago and have tried many different medications.

i was wondering if anyone else has gotten very ill after quitting zyprexa. i've gotten the SSRI withdrawals, and this is a little like that. mostly, i'm extremely nauseated. i started feeling a sort of motion-sickness on my second day off of it, and right now i'm just very drowsy and sick to my stomach.

i was just curious if anyone else has had this problem. (btw, i was on 2.5mgs; taking it for about 2 years).

thanks!

Zyprexa was like arsenic to my system. Despite constant complaining to my doctor, he insisted on me taking it anyway, saying that it was not possible the drug making me so sick and weak and extremly rageful. the symptoms would pass, he kept insisting... I was taking 10mg daily. After about two weeks i couldnt take it anymore, i was sooo sick. i went there and told him i was NOT taking this anymore. He didnt seem very concerned and commented I probably wasnt taking it anyway. Then he kind of slammed down the folder, yanked out his pad and threw it on the table and proceeded to write a script for 2mg klonopin three a day of them for two weeks. He ripped it off, put it on the table and walked twords the door and without turning around said 'that will keep you calm' and walked out and sort of slammed the door. What a jerk! Im glad that doctor is gone. He seemed like he was the one who needed the klonopin. For the next week or so I was very disoriented, had a high temp and extreme nausea. I couldnt eat without vomiting and my body felt literally exhausted like never before and i felt like a broke down fire truck i could barley move. The K's just knocked me out, which is pretty much how I dealt with the situation (sleeping the days away)...and I think the doctor knew what was going to happen as he convieniently wrote a rx for klonopin.
