Im confused. I eat 5 small (healthy) meals a day, and work out religously. But I can't get my body the way I want it to. I have a larger lower body than I do an upper body. I have a big butt, which I like. Everyone keeps saying that you can not spot reduce. I want my waist to be small but keep my butt/thighs big (kind of J.lo) In articles and shows, trainers claim they can help you get the body you want (having that j.lo and beyonce want "to keep the curves") I don't understand how these trainers can say they can keep the body how you want it if you cant spot reduce. I want the curves too. My waist needs the most help. Help!

well don't know your situation but genetically you may not be able to achieve that and must be satisfied with having a healthy strong body, so what in the heck is wrong with that? being healthy and strong is what eating well and exercise is all about isn't it?

Good news, chelle! It is much easier to lose the middle than the behind. Find something you love to do that promotes fitness, aim for a achievable goal more challenging than the level you are at currently, and by Christmas you'll see the difference.

I think it's important to focus on the fitness goal as well, whether it's to improve your endurance, improve your time on athletic events, or just to earn that medal for finishing the race. Pretty soon, you'll understand why you were blessed with your body. It's about accomplishment rather than appearance. I've been to races where these athletic-looking guys had their butts kicked by women they would not necessarily looked twice at in a bar. The boys were ashamed and humbled, to say the least, when the women were all smiles getting their winning trophies.

Good luck and let us know how you do!
