View Full Version : Need Help - Bumps on Leg Growing!

I now have 3 bumps on my skin midway up my calf. The first arrived about 3 years ago and remained small (about 3 mm in diameter) until about 9 months ago when 2 of its friends (satellites?) appeared nearby. Each of those is about 1/2 the size of the first, which has now grown to about 4 mm.

These are opaque, pinkish-white - not too different from the skin color, cauliflower-shaped to some degree, and painless.

My mother, who is an RN, thought the first one was a wart when she saw it 3 years ago.

But do warts spread like this? And aren't they usually on the hands and feet?
I have seen photos of basal cell carcinoma tumors and they kind of look like that, though they also look like wart photos I have seen.

I plan to see a doctor about this next month. I just started a new job and am waiting until the insurance is covering me.

I have measured the bumps and the large one is about 5 cm and the smaller ones 2 and 3 cm.

Has anyone had bumps like this before? Could they be just warts?

Thanks!

I think you may have seborrhic keratoses. They are harmless rough
lesions that look like warts. You get them as you age. I have quite a
few and have had quite a few frozen off.

Thank you for that information! I hope that's what they are. Is having them frozen off very painful?

Thanks, Bev

Hello again,

I looked up photos of seborrheic keratosis lesions and they don't seem to look like what I have. They seem to be gray or brown and mine are pretty much skin-colored - pinkish/ whitish.

Were yours dark in color? Or can they be light-colored as well?

Thanks, Bev

You may also have verrucal keratoses. These are more wart like and are benign. They are usually pinkish in color and have cauliflower appearance to them. SK's or VK's are both benign. To give yourself peace of mind, find a good dermatologist. The doctor can tell you what you have by looking at it. I suggest a dermatologist - not your family doctor.
