Hi
I'm 18, I'm 5"4 and weight 155 lbs (about 70kg) and trying to loss weight. How much weight will I lose in one month if I eat roughly 850 calories a day (not skipping meals or anything) and do excersise 5 times a week an hour each time?
Thanks
Sadie

If you do that you will lose about 10 lbs and then you will begin to crave food and will defeat your purpose. With the statistics you just gave, it takes about 1300 calories per day for you to just exist. That is your resting metabolism rate. If you drop below that in food, it will reset your metabolism and then you will not lose weight at all. You must consume at least the 1300 in nutritious foods and combined with the exercise you will lose any unnecessary weight. By the way. Water weighs 8 pounds per gallon and you don't want to lose more hydration by excessive dieting. You won't be able to keep that up and if you do you will be miserable and feel sick.

Actually, if you do that, you probably won't lose much of anything. If you eat anything less than 1200 calories a day, your body will go into starvation mode, your metabolism will slow down, and the fat will be stubborn and will be very very very slow to come off...Ask any personal trainer or nutritionist. You need to eat at least 1200 calories, more like 1500, a day in order to give your body the necessary energy. That's one problem that most people have and don't realize: Just because you eat less than a thousand calories a day does not mean you'll lose weight. You have to eat as much as your body needs to function at its best. If you don't believe me, look it up. Type in amount of calories in a day in google or something like it, and you should find a calculator where you put in your weight, age, and amount of activity per day and that will tell you how many calories you need to maintain your weight, how many you need to lose one pound a week and how many to lose two lbs a week. If you cut out more than that, your body goes into starvation mode. Hope this helps!

they are right. DONT EAT LESS THAN 1200! it just doesn't happen that way. As long as you eat healthy, and exercise, the weight will naturally come off!!!
