hi,

Today was my brother's grauduation party. It was fun for the most part, except the food. It was buffet style. I didn't do to well. I did well in the beginning but then some people came that I g.et very nervous around. All my mind was on after that was food. I threw up three times through the whole party which was from 2-5. Oh my gosh, why can't I just be normal and eat like everyone else. I don't understand myself. But my question was does anyone have any ideas how to eat and not go over board at a buffet?

thanks,
Liana Rose

I did the exact same thing yesterday and today! We had buffet style food both days for birthday and father's day celebrations, and I way overdid it. I threw up five times this weekend, so I can't really give advice. I just wanted to tell you that you aren't alone, and that I understand.

Okay, here I go with my hypocritical self...Think of a portable thing that you like to do. It could be reading, magazine browzing, gameboy, or whatever. Try and distract yourself when you get uncomfortable. I'm such a hypocrite!!! I might try that next time. Good luck and God bless!

Well, I try to get a little bit of everything that I like so that I dont crave anything i didnt eat so i wont go overboard and binge on it later.

Im not bulimic, but anorexic. I don't know if this would help any, but it helped me when i didnt know how much and of what to take without calculating everything up: I got someone (ie my mom) to fill my plate for me. She knows basically what foods i like, she obviously wont go overboard, and she's trustworthy. If you get someone to fill ur plate (do it every course, every time you're hungry...it makes it more like a restaurant where you cant just keep ordering). Plus this way, if you keep asking her for more, she can kind of tell you if youre bordering the binge amount.
