Hi, I take my Strattera around 9:00 PM Give or take an hour (No more, no less) I was wondering what time or times you take you or your child takes the medication and why at the time.. For me, I take it at night due to the fact that I will become sleepy around 45min to and hour after taking...

Both my kids take their Strattera in the morning. We were told to take it then because it helps get them through the day. Neither have complained of being tired.

My doctor told me to take it in the night for the first 4 weeks, then we will determine if it still makes me sleepy or not.

What do you take? Because sometimes, my Adderall makes me a bit drowsy and if I'm at home when I take it, and I get still, I will lightly doze off.
I always heard that is proof you are ADD/ADHD...when an amphetamine relaxes you!

Strattera, unlike stimulants, can be taken any time of day without changing its effectiveness in treating ADD symptoms. This is because it reaches "steady state plasma levels" (which stimulants do not - once they wear off, they're gone).
My son takes his Straterra at night because, like you, it makes him a bit sleepy.

my son is 7 years old and I also give his strattera at night because when he took it in the morning within 1 hour he would be asleep or be in a really bad mood

If i do not take my strattera within one to two hours I become a little jittery. Last night I went out with friends and forgot to pack a pill in my wallet for after work just in case I went out after. I normally take around nine and by the time the clock hit about 12 I guess I ebcame jittery and my hands started shaking and my speach slurred. By going out I ment going to mall and then the local Arcade to play a few games.. We do not Drink or Smoke or anything... It was a little weird but I know now to pack the pill just in case!
