Hello,
My Grandmother had an oval shaped mark on her lower leg (shin), she had this checked out by the family physician and he told her not to worry, it's probably just an allergy from all the gardening she does!
A few years later she was quite concerned about this area as the mark was getting larger, she went to another doctor who performed a skin test, the test came back positive for Melanoma, they then performed surgery and removed the entire area from her shin.
Now 2 years later the marks are back, this time on her upper thigh! She has been in for bone scans and will be undergoing radiation therapy starting next week.
How serious is this?
Does she have a good chance of pulling through?
She is 74 and full of life.
Thanks,
Zak
