Hey All.

Don't know if I'm in the right forum but here goes. I'm reading the SugarBusters book and I really think it's the best way of eating for me as it is something I can see myself doing for the rest of my life.

Atkins', on the other hand, would not be a viable solution for me. I know myself. I know I could lose weight with it but I highly doubt I could stick with it.

I get the feeling (and indeed I've heard) that SugarBusters doesn't make the pounds come off as quickly as Atkins. My question is would it be foolish to use Atkins to get down to my ideal weight, then use SugarBusters to maintain?

Would the Atkins weight bounce back while doing SugarBusters?

For reference, I'm 6'1" 225 lbs right now. I want to get to around 185 (which is very lean for me since I have a large frame).

Thanks for all the help guys

I have heard the experiences of several people switching from Atkins to Carbohydrate Addicts' . . . and with most there was a little weight gain (typically about 5 pounds, with a couple up to about 10) over the first two weeks, then it started to come off again. So, no, it is not terribly foolish to think about losing weight with one and switching to the other. BUT, IMHO, it would be better just to start with Sugarbusters and stick with that. Changes in diet are an adjustment for the body. Good luck!
