9 Days ago I developed an ear infection. It was two days before I could get to a doctor and start antibiotics. Two days after that I developed a severe pain on the back of my head which I'm sure is muscle related. Alieve helps with the pain, but it comes back 4 - 6 hours later. My mother told me the same thing happened to her about 2 years ago after a bout with food poisoning. Has anyone else experienced this after or during a bacterial infection? What helped?

Well i dont know if this helps, but its a good sign that the ovc medicine works for the pain. I am having major problems with my headaches, and they are in the back of the head also, sometimes on the side.... I was on antibiotics for a UTI and also a week later i had my wisdom tooth cause an infection, so they pulled it and put me on more antibiotics, since then I have been in nothing but pain.... What your going throught sounds like Tension Headaches. Have you tried a heating pad? Also did you go back for a follow up on the ear infection, it might not have went away.... Your not having any other signs are you?
