I have a yellowish green color fluid in my ear that I have been getting for some time now and when I go to the doctor they give me some antibiotics and it works for awhile then comes back. Anyone Know what this might be and what I can do about it? Thanks

When you say you have the fluid, do you mean it comes out of your ear and you can see it? If so, it sounds like it's coming from otitis externa, infection of the ear canal. I wouldn't say it was serous otitis media because that fluid is behind the eardrum and has no way of coming out. Unless you had a ruptured ear drum, which the doctor would have noticed.
Maybe you're allergic to something or something is irritating your ear, that's why it keeps coming back.

This has been going on for a few years now and I only see it when i use a que tip. The doctors have been giving me this stuff called ciprodex and it works for awhile then it comes back. Ive also been told to use vinegar and alcohol in my ear, but that stings a lot so i stoped using it.

Pilot: Alcohol/perox. mx. only burns if canal has inflammation or fibers are damaged frm q-tip use. Insist on old-fashion swab culture to rule out a bad
bacterial infection that may be resistant to rx doc put U on. Dr's will say they
see nothing, but a few like myself, can have off/on perforation w/o pain &
pop fluid out. U may also have infection @ eardrum that's not getting long
term antibiotics or wide spectrum-type. Get a culture & keep q-tips out.
