Hello everyone! Someone please help me if you have any advice at all..I was diagnosed with hpv about 2 months ago, detected with an abnormal pap. I since had a colopscopy which showed mild dysplasia. I am going back in july for another pap, is there a chance it could be normal? I am so scared and I always think the worse. My question is..is it ok to have sex with dysplasia? or does it irritate the cervix and make it worse? Sometimes after sex I do notice spotting or dried up blood-but i am also on orthro-micronor so I dont know if this could be contributing to this or not, because it does make me spot a little every now and then and I do not get a period on the pills. Someone please help me, Im so scared. Thank-you in advance!

HI! I experienced the same thing. My next pap was normal. But then I had another abnormal pap. It is okay to have sex. I asked my doctor about that. But, you need to keep the condition monitored. You should go every 3 months....for follow up. My last pap was normal then, last year at the age of 25 I was diagnosed with stage 3c uterine cancer. (nothing to do with the HPV). My cervix was clear. Don't let the dysplasia consume you, but do keep an eye on it. Take Care.

Have safe sex would be the best thing to do - meaning wear protection and keep the clearness of your cervix and vagina at all time. Good luck! Take care. :)
