Hi:)
I, too, suffer from Candida and hate the fact that many doctors don't believe in it, especially since it causes soooo much suffering. My symptoms are digestive problems, dizziness, a major increase in food and enironmental allergies, muscle and body aches, "major brain fog", and increase in anxiety among many more. I have been doing some research trying to help myself, and it seems best to do a Candida diet, which consists of eating no refined sugar, no fructose or sugars of any kind, no carbohydrates, and no vinegar or fermented products. Also, no processed meats. Along with that, you can take a presciption called Nystatin, or you can take supplements such as garlic, as far as I've learned. Also, probiotics like acidophilus re-colonize your digestive tract with good bacteria, leaving no room for bad bacteria. Personally, I'm making the decision right now to quit sugar, do the Candida diet, take garlic while doing the diet (Or Nystatin, if I can find a doc to give me a script), and then I'm starting supplementing with hypoallergenic acidiophilus because I have extreme and somewhat dangerous food allergies. That's my game plan. I might also buy some Pau D' Arco tea to drink while doing THE diet. I wish your brother in law the best of luck because I wouldn't wish a Candida albicans overgrowth on my worst enemy!!
