I'm one week post op after a bunionectomy, and everything is going great! No pain, walking around all day, etc. However, I have the sensation that my big toe sticks up just a little more than the other toes. When I do the flexibility toe exercises, I think I can bend it pretty far both ways; but at rest, and when I walk, I feel it sticking up a bit too much. The foot's still bandaged, including around the base of the toe--could it be the bandage that's keeping it up? Do people typically have poorer flexibility moving the toe down, or poorer flexibility moving it up, after a bunionectomy?
Also, the gap between my big toe and the rest of the toes is pretty big now. I'm not sure if I'm just not used to seeing the toes this way, if it's the bandage that's holding them apart, or whether that's normal and the toes will eventually move in to close the gap after more time has passed. Any thoughts/experiences on any of this?
