Joe,

Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is great news.

I would like to know what test you took , the name brand, and how long did it take to get results.

And, as with Liveforfortheday could you explain your symptoms and if you don't mind the exposure.

Again that's great news, congrats.

Joseph,
Many Congrats. Hey I have just had a very high-risk exposure and am getting tested this week. I also have all the symptoms (I think) - Can you tell me what sort of symptoms you had ?. I have had swollen lymph nodes in my neck, what feels like slight fever, etc. I'm praying to God that I'm negative but absolutely scared to death - I have a family to take care of...

YEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can I ask you a personal question if U don't mind? If you do mind..it's okay..or maybe now that you are negative you don't need this board anymore..but Why did u think u had it?

Sancarlos..did you do a booboo? Hi by the way. Maybe your high risk wasn't really a high risk. Do you want to talk about it? I mean I maybe nervous about my own situation but maybe I can help. I live with someone who has it.

Hi Mim,
Well I am going to get tested tomorrow, but I am in a total state of panic.. Wondering how I explain to my wife and kids how I got myself into this situation during a business trip abroad...

Can you tell me what sort of symptoms you had ?

2 Days after the incedent I came down with a fever with swollen Glands in my neck and groin.

2 weeks after
I started having nightsweats, headaches daily,a really weird rash on my hand and forearm, back and neck pain, insomnia, short term memory loss and a whole slew of other symptoms some of which I still have.

Hi Joseph,
Did you get tested for the other stuff at all - Any idea what else could have caused those symptoms ?. I'm hoping that I have another type of viral infection, but everything I have jives with what the books say - Slightly aching joints, mild fever, swollen lymph nodes in the neck, etc.. Not good :(

I think both of you are fine. Memory loss is really not a symptom. You know what I realized that pain develops more from stress than anything else. My mother has HIV and She did not have symptoms for a longgggggg time..this is someone who always had a weak immune system. Unless you get Thrush and Shingles..those sound a lot more common. I wish you both luck. Carlos I wish you lots of luck telling your wife..I give you much respect for that. Mom had a high fever and bumps on her face when she contracted it..years after contracting it and a bad dry cough...those are more likely symptoms as well. I hope I can help in anyway..

Thanks Mimi,
I'll keep you posted. I hope that it is anything but, but there is an HIV epidemic going on in China right now. I should know more tomorrow, but I am really concerned. Note to anyone else travelling: Wear a condom (I did) - Don't let her take it off (I didn't). Second note: If she is having or about to have her period you are really at risk - There is an exceptionally high viral load - I read this after the fact.

Oh well, wish me luck.. Otherwise, suicide and life insurance claim for the family :(

congrats! I just ordered the home access test and, like you, feel that I am in that high risk group. Not promiscuous, but haven't dated the greatest of specimens. If I had been on here earlier I would have prayed for you... Please pray for me?
