Hi All,

I've been trying the magnesium/calcium thing for leg pains, spasms, etc. and it is helping. But I was wondering if anyone else has problems with the laxative effect. I have IBS with the runs so I really need no help to go more.

Any ideas?

Oh you poor thing. In my sick little mind when I read your post I was thinking -- reduction of cramping so you could run or use a skate board to get to the john faster! Sorry, I just could not help myself. I can honestly say that IBS is one symptom I am fortunate enough not to have. Now I will go sit in the corner for being bad. (TT)

True as true can be. Magnesium levels can be taken and you know you have had enough when you get loose stools. You might want to cut down on the dose is what I was always advised to do until it's tolerable to take.
I was taking megadoses and learned by lesson the hard way. I've cut way, way down now.

Andy-
I take 333mg of Mag in the am and one in the pm. I have IBS with constipation and have noticed no change in the constipation. I do believe that the magnesium helps with the leg pain. I'm not willing to try going without it.

Mollymadison has gotten the dose pretty much what it should be and what I'm taking now. Before I was taking really high megadoses.
Like her, I wouldn't be without the magnesium because it really helps me with leg pain.

I have noticed the dilaudid i take for flare ups has the added benifit of controlling my IBS with D. I have heard that any narcotic pain med can help slow the bowels down. It works great for me. But i dont take it all the time so i still have to deal with it.
