Not another dead end!!
I went to a vestibular rehab appt today and have been told that my vestibular system has recovered to normal levels however, my symptoms still remain! My balance symptoms have improved but my visual symptoms havent changed at all. SO they are sending me back to a neurologist. I have already seen a neurologist but here we go again!
So they have taken back there last diagnosis and now I am at 2 years without a diagnosis and still bloody dizzy!

Oh Star, my heart goes out to you, how annoying!! I am intrigued as to how they say that your balance sytem hes gone back to normal levels now, very interesting!
Are they assuming that it has? or did they give you a re-run at the tests again? Please let me know.
If its any consilation I played this game  and was the same as you in terms of varying diagnosis- first labs, then not labs, then biltareal bppv, then a central problem and not inner ear ! ....it went on. :o
Then finally after seeing the neuroto and actually having the tests done I got the right daignosis - labs which caused vestibular damage.
Its such a pain and on going worry when they draw blanks and then change their mind, but seems normal in the dizzy field.
What do you plan to do next? I know you have seen a neuro, have you seen a neuroto?
Hugs :) Ilia x

Hi Ilia
Well you are right that it is all very annoying! Basically they have done a variety of balance tests, not the eng though and told me that it all seems to be behaving as a normal vestibular system. Supposedly it is very much improved then previously and is within the limits set for what is considered 'normal'. Not what I consider normal though!
So I am going back to one of my opthamologists for vision therapy as now my vrt guy is suspecting maybe something neurological affecting my eyes. And then trying to find a neurologist who is specialised in visual problems. Basically what I need is a neuro-opthamologist but they don't exist in Perth. I will have to fly to Sydney. Which is very pricey since I havent worked for ages. But thats what i'll do if I can't get any help where im from!
Anyways thats me. Hope you are doing better. I read your post on being stuck at a level. Im sure you'll get there soon. It sounds as though you will!!

Star - this reminded me of ilias experience with the posturography test saying she'd improved balance wise. Correct me subs but I dont think there is any way they can say your baalnce is back to normal. The damage is PERMANENT.
Ignore this rubbish. Good idea seeing the eye doc. Keep fighting star. xxx
