Does anyone know if too many "sweets" can cause an irritated taste bud or a sore spot with a little redness on the tongue? I have always been told that too many sweets can irritate those little buds but I always thought that was a myth.

When I eat a lot of certain types of sweets I get soreness. My mouth also goes a little sore if I've eaten a few bags of salt and vinegar potato chips. Also, fresh pinapple will do that too. Usually your tongue gets sore and the roof of your mouth gets rough.

When I eat icecream or have chocolate my teeth hurt from the sugar. I could be just different reaction from different people.

Yeah that happens to me when I get too indulged in sunflower seeds - the salt numbs my tongue and lips Happens with fruits too. Also, my cousin says she gets a sore spot on her tongue after eating too many Sour Patch Kids :D So I guess it depends on the person.

Dark Stranger - wants some pineapples after reading joquiero's post ^-^
