I have a question, has anyone had problems getting pregnant because of their ED. I want to have a family soon but everyone keeps telling me that I have abused my body so much I will never be able to have children. Which is insane to me. But anyway.
For the past year I have had my period, although I only get it ever 32-35 days. But its better than nothing!
I am also a complete vegetarian.
Any suggestions or ideas?

my only advice is to try. There's no telltale sign that you can or can't become pregnant.. .its different for everyone, and while it is a concern, the fact that you are getting pretty regular periods is a great sign. A good friend was told for years by dr's that she would never concieve because of her ED in the past, and somehow she accidentally got pregnant... she did miscarry.. but the point is, she concieved. I'm not saying your first shot will work, or any for that matter... BUT you have to be optomistic.

And please please please realize that if you do become pregnant, everything you do to your body will effect your child....be careful and good luck

I agree with Redcactus - the only thing to do is try! I have two gorgeous little boys - three and five years old. The older was conceived when I was newly into "recovery" after seventeen years of seriously abusing my body. That little guy was such a gift we tried again, and got a second beauty. They are truly my heroes, because I knew when I was pregnant with them that I HAD to take care of myself - they didn't ask to be born, and didn't deserve to be treated with anything but care and respect while I was carrying them. There have been and will be rough times since, because I don't think anorexia ever completely leaves you - but those babies did more than years and years of costly therapy and hospitalizations ever were able to do for me. Good luck - do your best to take care of yourself to optimize your chances!
D.
