Hi exactley 7 days ago a friend of mine was admitted to our local ear nose and throat department at our city hospital.
He was suffering from nose bleeds that lasted upto 1 hr 30 mins, his nose was cortirised and packed but the bleeding continued at the same rate for a couple of days intermittanley.
Blood tests where taken and came back fine and after around 3 days the packs where removed,my friend still carried on suffering with nose bleeds although not as bad and he managed to control them by applying pressure to his nose as shown by the doctor.
His nose has been examined by the doctor using a microscope and the bleeding point cannot be found although the doctor has cortirised certain areas.
My worry is whether or not my pal has been given the correct treatment, the staff at the hospital say this is a common problem and how they treat all nose bleeds, after having an argument with a member of the nursing staff who had a terrible attitude problem i was informed that the only cure for this problem is plenty of bed rest and to just wait and see,his nose bleeds have subsided but they still happen and tomorrow the hospital are thinking of releasing him am i just being paranoid or is he just been fobbed off.

well, i don't know if this is normal procedure, but if it were me going thru this, i would go get a second opinion form a different dr. that is a lot of blood loss there. i would't want to keep going thru this.
