My nephew, (who lives here) is not going to bed on time! arg, we put him to bed at his usual time, that is between 8-8:30, or so. but doesnt actually fall asleep till later, yesterday it was like 930-10  , i think. He is a 4 year old.

he does have a routine also.. he goes to the washroom, changes into pjs, someone reads him a story, and he reads back/talks about pics... then lights go out, but a lamp stays on.... someone lies w/him usually also. um...

not sure what else we can do to help him go to sleep, on time.. lol any ideas/suggestions would be greatly appreiciated :jester:

my baby does the same thing she's 2 yrs old and in the morning she gets out of bed, she plays in her walker, reads books etc... and 9:00 pm comes and we put her to bed so she'll know it's night but it does not help, she also has allergies and she's taking zyrtec and that makes her sleepy so it kind of helps.

Ps:Just put your nephew to sleep at an early time and leave the light off my babe has a light on too but we have been turning it off and that seems to help. bye

i think that last sentence sounded odd.. lol. Having a nitelite on, instead of having a lamp on. <--- that sentence sounds better

Hello, Make sure he doesn't have an afternoon nap. It sounds like he just isn't tired out yet. He might need to get outside and run around more during the day. My son's 5 and his bedtime is 9:00PM. That way I know he's tired by then. There was only one time he requested to go to bed earlier at 8:30AM, so I'm guessing he was extra active that day. Kids need to burn up all that stored up energy in their tiny bodies.
