Hi!
I'm in the middle of being diagnosed for my problems. I had EEG yesterday to see if I'm having sleep seizures, results not in yet. Last night doctor called to say he suspects I have narcolepsy w/ sleep paralysis & hypnogogic hallucinations.
I had 5 fever induced seizures as baby. Then as teenager I had sleep paralysis during a nap. Then as adult, I've had 3 episodes of sleep paralysis upon awakening, 1 of the 3 with VERY real hallucinations. (Until now, I always thought these were seizures until doctor told me about sleep paralysis last night.)
Anyways, past 4 years I've been getting worse with other symptoms. Almost daily I have a wierd feeling in my head...feels like a hurt brain, drugged feeling...I take no drugs. I'm also slightly dizzy, tired and get headaches. My short term memory is at an all time low.
Then, every few weeks I go into what I call my "funk". I wake up with all the above symptoms plus am EXTREMELY tired. My arms are week, I feel heavy, and my vision is very blurry. The "funk" is real bad for about 3 days and then I go back to my normal tired, wierd brained self. Does this sound familiar to any of you? Thank you all in advance for your time and help!
Sincerely, Sonja

Do you know if you have cataplexy? Sudden weakness in chest, neck, arms, jaw when laughing, sad, or emotional?

I don't think I have cataplexy. The only thing close is when I laugh, my jaw tightens and feels like it's stuck. My family jokingly calls it my lock-jaw.
