Hi all

I work as a Kitchen porter for a Hotel and I use Sodium Hydroxide (Lye) to clean oven w/o masks as the hotel don't have them. I know they should and @ my old hotel I changed over the Dishwasher detergent which also contains Lye. It slipped out of my hands and splashed in my face and burned my face. This stuff went in to my eye, face and mouth so I wash it off immediately which took a while. Ever since I have left that hotel for another hotel I been having 1 side nasal blockages sometimes clears but returns but now I got mucus in my throat. Does Lye do this. I need to know this so I can warn other people who I train.

Me I will now refuse to clean the oven, they can get some1 else to do it in future after this.

Vincent
