I performed oral sex about a month ago, swallowed a little too. There are (have been) no cuts in my mouth or anything. About two days after, my appetite has changed. I'm eating ALOT less. My stomach has been messed up seriously; I've suffered constipation, and the only time my bowels move is after taking a laxative, so it's usually diarrhea. Lately, my appetite has been almost non-existent and I'm starting to feel very tired (possibly from the lack of food in my system). My bowels move when I make myself go, and they are somewhat loose, not very watery though, but my appetite is still not back. I was wondering if it could have been from the variety of medicines I took within the past week (ex-lax, pepto bismol, and antacid tablets). But I thought it would be gone by now. I'm not sure that this is related to HIV, but I'm VERY conerned. There have been no swollen glands. Can anyone relate to this or understand the problem??

Heels,

Well my gastro symptoms are as follows:
More frequent bowel movements which is unusual for me. I'm normally a every morning with coffee guy and I've been having movements twice a day for the past two days and it's been 25 days for me. This only started occurring two days ago. I've read that diarrhea can be a symptom but not constipation. Also, my stomach for the past two days has been feeling like I have a stomach virus coming on with tingling and some pain in my lower intestinal area. My appetite has changed a little I don't get hungry as often and yesterday I noticed I have lost weight which is very rare for me. This has me a little more concerned.

I understand completely the fear and anxiety you are dealing with, and trust me there is many more that are in the same boat as you. The only thing I can tell you is what you already know, the only way to know for sure is to wait and get tested. I'm waiting til 28 days and am going to try the DNA/PCR test which identifies the virus itself. I am just as concerned and scared as you are.

Hang in there

Cajun is right...we are all in the same boat.

My worry is the same as yours...oral sex...I had sex with this girl and used a condom but the oral aspect of it was unprotected and is my main concern. From what I've been hearing, oral sex carries a very low risk...some consider it no risk...but no the less, there still is a chance. Most of your symptoms are probably from stress...thinking about a life altering event such as this can do it. My body over the course of the past month has been weird to say the least. I have no idea what the hell is going on. And, as the other post eluded to, the only real way to know is to get tested. You're at a month now, wait another 2 weeks and go to your local blood center to get a test done. A test at 6 weeks according to my doctor and several others is fairly accurate. Hopfully that will put your mind at ease. Then, go back in 5 months to get another test. At that point if you are still negative, you are outta the woods.

I will say if your only symptom is stomach and bowel movement problems, its probably the meds you're taking coupled with the stress...you'll be fine!

Heels,

You are at very low risk..you have nothing to worry about sweety. Get tested so it can ease your mind but I bet you are fine. You don't even know if this guy even has it..so thats one, and second it is low risk too. Your pains are probably stress related...maybe it is an ulcer..or Colitis..When I get nervous i suffer from stomach pains like lately with my nerves..mine r similar but he had a tini blister on his lip which scared me but in your case its less risky..Go get your stomach checked but I think thats important right now...Other than that try to remember that it is practically no risk at all and there are some people that slept un procted with someone who had it and still came out negative! So cacualte the chances..You need someone to talk to you can talk to me. i believe your stomach is your nerves calling out. Still go check out your stomach for other health reasons.

Mim
