View Full Version : Magnesium, my results!

Hey Guys,
I said I would respond with the results of taking magnesium for a week. I didn't the recommended 250mg, I took 100mg. I took two pills a day, one in the morning and one in the evening. For the last three months I have had bad PVC's everyday. They would make me feel like death would come on the next beat. After taking the magnesium for a week I have only had two or three in a week, and they seem a LOT lighter I don't feel week after them. I don't want to spark anybody into a 'miracle cure' thing here, but they seem to be making a difference. (In me, in might not work for everyone)They aren't just some sort of placebo. If your PVC's are really bad you might want to try 250 or 500mg, that's what I had intended to use, but I bought the wrong dosage. Anywase, I guess that's it, I forget who suggested to use them in my last thread, but thank you! I can FEEL a difference! It's definately more than the doctor has done!

I hope this thread might be useful to some, and that they might help all of you guys as well, so that we can all escape the **** they call PVC's or any off palps!

Good Luck All!

Dave,

I've seen MAGNESIUM work so often that I really DO think it's A MIRACLE cure. I'm just glad that Pfizer or AstraZeneca didn't get it first!:D

Maaybe with 250 or 500 mg dosing your rhythm irregualrities will disappear!

Dave ~ Did your doc have you try any other prescriptions? Mine keeps increasing my atenolol but the PVC are still there ~ really bothersome after I eat or try to lie down at night. Thanks in advance for your reply :-)

Hi. I was just saying in another post that at my checkup with my cardiologist she said my magnesium level was too low. She is checking it again in two weeks. I don't have PVC's or anything, I did have bypass. She said if your magnesium is too low it causes cardiac arrhythmias. She said even though I don't have anything like that if my level doesn't go up she will supplement me to prevent it. So evidentally cardiologists prescribe magnesium for PVC's.

I really want to try the magnesium, it has been so helpful to so many. My problem is, my magnesium is not low. So what are the dangers of taking magnesium if it is not required by your body? The skips have been really bad this past week- so bad I can barely move and I am soooo weak.
I see my cardiologist this week, hopefully I remember to ask him about the mag!!

abby,

It's almost impossible to OD on magnesium. Too, too, TOO much (several grams) and you will have a laxative and a nauseous effect.
After all, epsom salts is MgSO4 and you take tablespoons of the stuff for a laxative dose.

Magnesium is pretty safe stuff...certainly 500 mg. a day is safe for everyone.

intresting comments here about the magnesium.

When i last saw my Cardiologist a few months ago he was really taken aback that i was takeing a potassium supplement and was goign to try an magnesium supplement. He said if your levels werent low not to mess with it, as that stuff could really irritate you or casue imbalances

anyway based on that i stopped taking the potassium and magnesium supplements and tried the torprol.

well that didnt work so i stopped taking that, but ive decided to try the Magnesium full out again, doing 250-500mg a day and seing if that helps.

I did get my magnesium levels checked and they came back fine.....but i didnt get a specific reading. Just a letter from my HMO saying they were fine. Now id like to check the actual blood results and was wondering what an accepatable magneisum level is
