Hoping someone here has an answer to this question. My husband has been having terrible pain on his right side under the rib cage. He thinks it is his gall bladder after talking to his doctor and other people who have had gall bladder problems. He recently lost weight while trying to lower his cholesterol. So many people we have talked to said that they started having gall bladder trouble after losing weight. Why is that? You would think that eating healthier (lower fat and cal.) would help the gall bladder not work so hard. Has anyone else had this experience?

Gall stones start to form when you loose weight. Some doctors know this and prescribe Actigal (A bile acid) when people go on diets to be sure this does not happen. The technical details involve cholestorol crystal in the bile , not sure of it all but a vell versed dr should know. It happened to me. I now have gall bladder surgery on the 13th. If I had kknow before the diet this could have bee prevented. Now it's too late.
