I wash my feet and between my toes every time I shower(morning, night). But,between my pinky toe and the one next to it there is always dead skin or nasty smelly stuff.I can scrub between there with a small brush but after drying off after the shower its still there.Any ideas?

Hi, it could be a fungus. Purchase an over the counter product (I have Triacomb) or other and apply it between the toes a few times a day for a week or two....hopefully that will help.

As well, do you share your bath facilities with another person? Check him or her to make sure you're not passing it to each other. Clean your shower stall frequently with a disinfectant.

Are you diabetic? Do you have poor circulation to your feet and toes, and/or delayed wound healing? If you have a doctor that treats you for diabetes, I would bring this to their attention. I'm admittedly no expert on this topic, but given your name and your complaint, the term "tissue necrosis" pops up in my mind. There may be things you can do to improve circulation to that area (herbs, creams, medications, exercise).

Don't be embarrassed. It's very good you noticed this, and I think it's exactly the kind of thing your doctor needs to know about. You want to take this very seriously. If it is anything worrisome, it sounds like you've caught it at an early stage and all will be well with appropriate treatment. I hope to hear how it goes!
