This is very weird. I have a slow increasingly bigger swelling (or something) near the ball of my left foot... NO pain.... just a very uncomfortable enlargement that I've noticed the last 6 weeks. When I step down on my foot my 2nd/3rd toes separate... I have this vision of this thing getting so big I will be growing on it AND I do not like doctors and their offhanded/disinterested manner (in conjunction with not having a clue) while I'm sitting there convinced I have a rare incurable disease that will only require me to find a quiet place to die... with my dog. I'm certain someone has some info on this kind of thing... I'm counting on it... Doctors have to play golf... real healing comes from correct information and places like this are the most likely sources... Or do I have to get my dog and find a place? Thanks... gary

Well, you may get some ideas or suggestions from people here, but in all honesty I think that without more information and a history and a look at the foot no one is going to be able to tell you anything very useful. A doctor is really the best person to evaluate this. Not all are disinterested or unhelpful. If you've had bad experiences with doctors in the past, I can understand your reluctance to go back. However, carefully choosing a doctor by specialty and reputation should help you have a better experience this time around.

I also seriously doubt that such a swelling is and indication of an incurable and terminal disease. But if you are seriously worried, let whatever doctor you see know about your anxiety. I am sure someone will be able to help you.
