After many moinths of pain in the top of my foot, my Ortho finally ordered a bone scan for me. The technician says there is evidence of stress fractures in the foot. My follow-up appt. with the ortho isn't for a few weeks, and I am in quite a lot of pain every time I step. Can anyone recommend any treatment for the pain while I wait to see the Dr? I have an air-cast boot, and thought maybe wearing that would help. I appreciate any ideas

Thank you, Gail

Be careful with the aircast boot. I wore it for 4 months due to multiple stress fractures. Once the boot was no longer needed, the pain left from the boot was greater than the pain from the fractures. It's ok to wear the boot anywhere from a few days to about 6 weeks. Then it makes the recovery from the boot even harder.
