Good morning, Alex! I think of you now when I take a lovely two mile walk in the woods. I remember first walking two miles on my treadmill after surgery. I didn't need to be in the woods to feel wonderful about being able to walk again!

And a great big morning to you as well. I sure wish I had the woods to walk in . City living has its disadvantages.

Two level laminectomy fusion L5-S1 & L2-3 done on 12/6/02.
I regret the day that I agreed to have this surgery.
Fifteen inch scar from the very top of butt crack (sorry), to the bra line.
BAK cages, rods & screws.(Titanium)
My pelvic bone was used for grafting.
Praying that the other two discs in between, won't have to be fused later, as I was told it was a possibility, due to the other two discs in between, not being in that great of shape.
Doc didn't want to fuse four levels, unless it is really necessary.
I would hate to repeat the surgery, as the recovery period, is so very painful.
I also have a herniation and free fragment in my T11-12 area, that I'm still refusing surgery for, at this point in time.
That surgery is way too dangerous for me to consider, until if affects my being able to walk.

I forgot to ever ask and if I am in touchy territory I'm sorry.. Were you in NY when 9/11 happened and how close. A day I will never forget.
Anyway, have a great week. I have doctors appointments the next 3 days, so that will keep me out of trouble... Come on weekend...

Hi Alex, http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/wave.gif

I don't mind you asking at all, questions don't bother me one bit http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif

No, I wasn't anywhere near the tragedy of 9/11, a very sad day for all http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/frown.gif
I live in a very small town right next to Syracuse, NY

Were you in NY at that time ?

I've never actually traveled far, I've never been on a plane, train, or bus (I think I live under a rock)
Someday maybe I'll go to Hawaii though http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif

It sounds like your appointment schedule happens the same way as mine, they always seem to be piled together. I have three appts. next week myself.

Good luck on the appointments, I hope one is your back doctor, I bet you will amaze him with your success http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/dance.gif

You have a great week as well, I'm pooped, so I'm signing off early tonight, I hope that you have a peaceful evening http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/yawn.gif

Baxter,
No, I was in North Carolina playing in a retired military golf tournament.
I lived in Hawaii for 3 years.. Sure was nice.
You have a restful night.

Alex
