Has anyone tried this at all to unplug the ears? I keep plugging my nose and blowing, I just did my 1 billionth plug and no relief.

In some patients MIDDLE EAR EFFUSION can be relieved by inflating the ears (holding the nostrils closed and forcing air into the ears). If this does not get air into the ears, MIDDLE EAR EFFUSION can be relieved by use of the Mathis inflation bulb while swallowing. During swallowing the mouth of the Eustachian tube is opened and the passageway into the lungs (larynx) is closed. If you put the small inflation bulb "in" either nostril and close the other and squeeze the bulb exactly at the same time you swallow you can usually get air into each middle ear. This relieves the vacuum in the middle ear, displaces the fluid and relieves the hearing loss.

Zeethan:
I used to and still do the old plug the nose and blow air through my ears. For the longest time, my right side never unplugged and then after many months on one of my walks...I remember doing it and it finally blew out some air through my right ear. It was actually a sign for me that something good was happening. You must do this quite gently. Both my ears blow air now but I can still tell my right side is just slightly more hesitant. I had ear fullness for quite a while, but it does go away.

all the best,
Kathy
